IF YOU WEIGH IN ON FRIDAY AND ARE OVERWEIGHT, YOU WILL BE MOVED UP.  IF YOU WEIGH IN ON SATURDAY AND ARE OVERWEIGHT, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!!! WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ADJUST BRACKETS AS NEEDED IF THERE IS NO OTHER COMPETITOR IN THE BRACKET OR IF YOU DO NOT MAKE YOUR WEIGHT CLASS!

RULES

​

How to win a match: 
1. Competitor can win a match by submitting his opponent before time expires. 
2. Every legitimate submission attempt will count as 1 point, if time expires, referee goes to the scoreboard to determine a winner. 
​

3. If score is tied, referee's decision.

​

NO IBJJF Points.  Match ends when a competitor taps verbally, physically, or the referee feels the competitor is in danger of serious injury, or time expires.  Competitors will receive 1 point for each submission attempt during a match.  If time expires, competitor with the most submission attempt points wins.  If score is tied, referee's decision or a two minute sudden death overtime will be added.  First to score a submission point wins.  If overtime expires, referee's decision.


ABSOLUTE divison will be a single elimination event and will start when all weight divisions have been completed.

​TAKEDOWN DERBY (if applicable to an event) will be a single elimination event.  A take down will consist when a competitor initiates a takedown technique and his opponent is taken down and his but touches the mat or the opponent counters the takedown attempt and the competitor who initiates the takedown, his but touches the mat.  Rules on this event will be explained at the start of the event.

Legal/Illegal Techniques

Teens & Kids Divisions
* No attacks below the waist are permitted (ankle locks, knee bars, toe holds, heel hooks etc.).
* No wrist locks are permitted.
* No neck cranks or cervical locks are permitted.
* No scissors takedowns are permitted.
* No bicep or calf crunches are permitted.
* No slamming from the guard or to escape submission.
* No "Boston Crab" techniques are permitted.

Adult Divisions
White Belt/Beginner No-Gi
* Straight ankle locks to the outside are permitted (cannot turn the ankle lock towards the other leg).  The inside leg is permitted to

    cross over the opponents leg. Example - 50 / 50 guard is a legal position to execute a straight ankle lock. However, if the outside leg

    crosses over the opponents leg in any manner, the result will be an immediate Disqualification (even if the opponent does not "tap" 

    due to the ankle lock.
* No knee bars, toe holds, heel hooks, etc. are permitted except in the advanced no-gi divisions (all submissions are legal in expert no-gi)
* No wrist locks are permitted.
* No neck cranks or cervical locks are permitted.
* No scissors takedowns are permitted.
* No bicep or calf crunches are permitted.
* No slamming from the guard or to escape submission.

Blue/Purple Belt
* The same rules apply to Blue & Purple Belts as the White Belts with these additional legal techniques:
* Blue & Purple Belts are permitted to apply wrist locks.
* Blue & Purple Belts are also permitted to apply top mount naked chokes and squeezing the torso with the legs from guard as a submission.

Brown/Black Belt
* The same rules apply to Brown & Black Belts as Blue & Purple Belts with these additional techniques:  Straight ankle locks to the  

   outside, toe holds and knee bars are permitted (No heel hooks are permitted).
* Wrist locks are permitted.
* Biceps and calf crunches are permitted.
* No neck cranks or cervical locks are permitted.
* No scissors takedowns are permitted.
* No slamming from the guard or to escape submission.

 

Advanced No-Gi

Knee bars and toe holds are permitted in the advanced no-gi divisions

Expert No-Gi

All submissions are legal in expert no-gi)

No slamming allowed in any division
